Sound was working good. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. Thanks for marking this as the answer. Tried Uninstalling the ATI one and re-installing it to no avail, it showed in the manager but I couldn’t select it so still had the red cross.
In reply to bill weathersbee’s post on January 6, It means we could help each other trying to solve this problem. You are correct the QuickPlay bar won’t work because the computer isn’t seeing the sound card.
You laptop is not Adio compliant. But under the update driver tab, it lets you browse for a driver, with that command I can not find the HP driver on my computer. This was an older issue than the sound issue.

I could not find a fix until now. What drivers are you trying to purchase? I have it on my desktop, and a copy in my documents, but I aidio not select those areas to download the correct driver from.

I think my trouble is coming from the Microsoft driver, It should be an HP driver, sp A few days before happened again, at start up, it said no audio output device is intalled I see that you are having some sound issues after the latest Windows Update.

What is your product number? And since HP has no win7 specific drivers you can but only select the vista drivers. You can try downloading then installing Vista drivers, but you’ll have to install in compatibility mode. Note on archived topics. Uf, “No audio output device is installed!
The drivers for this device are made by manufacturers and not by Microsoft.
